Born On A Pirate Ship

You are probably wondering why I'm rockin' this new look.

I have repurposed my Halloween pirate bandana into a protective mask. We all need to be very careful about not spreading the corona virus in our community and this is my contribution to the effort.

Today is my father's birthday. Happy birthday, Dad!

Not much going on here. I am getting to know Davis very well through walks and bike rides. But, I really can't go anywhere else for the time being.

In other news, this is my 200th blog post.

Don't Stand So Close To Me

It's not that I don't like you. It's just that we need to practice "social distancing" in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by a brand new virus.

Normally Dad and I head out to the desert in the early Spring. Not this year! I'm getting to know my hometown of Davis, California quite well. I'm staying at home right now like everyone else, but I walk or bike every day. Not a bad way to spend my time.

Going Viral

It seems like something is going on that's a bit out of the ordinary. I have watched people being more cautious around each other and I've been learning the fine art of greeting by elbow bump.

I really hope everything goes back to normal soon, but it's kind of nice that the world seems to be moving slower and quieter.

Birds

It's Groundhog Day, but all the wildlife I saw this morning takes to the sky.

Dad and I went to the Cosumnes River Preserve as we often do around this time of year. It was a beautiful day with huge flocks of birds wheeling around the wetlands. Hundreds of them by my count.

Later today, it's Super Bowl LIV. Normally I don't care about sports but this year...

Depending on how you count it, we're about to start a new decade. It looks to be a consequential one. What will "the twenties" bring?
